Abstract
This paper research the role of mentorship in succession planning at a commercial bank in Johannesburg to guarantee a seamless change in an organization's leadership. It explores how mentoring assist the bank employees in developing professionally and readying themselves for leadership roles, seeing growth within the bank through mentorship, by looking at how interdependent they are. The study explores the effects and impact of mentorship and succession planning on employee engagement and retention. It also examines how succession planning might be strategically implemented to find and nurture future leaders. This study emphasizes the significance of mentorship in succession planning integration for organizational success through a review of the literature and case studies.
