Abstract

The topic was to focus on the Traditional Banking sector in South Africa and how AI is enabling them to transform – I don’t agree that it is expansive as the theme on the paper is about AI and no other emerging technology. The literature will include other emerging technologies to highlight the progressive nature of the one which is AI. Context of study: I have made the minor changes to include the ethical considerations however the second sentence on research problem had articulated the limited research that exists for vetting, algorithmic bias and ethics thereby suggesting an opportunity for future studies to go the academic knowledge base. The research problem was to investigate the role of AI in banking and how it influences the way South African banks conduct business, offer advice, and engage with customers – diverting to focus on the acceleration of AI doesn’t solve the depth issue as banks are not accelerating at the speed the world has in the last year have accelerated. Thus, the delimitations of the study point out some of the items provided in the feedback. Clarity on Research Problem, Hypothesis and Objective – the current advancements that are existing in AI have not had significant studies to reference from nor latest journals to incorporate the validity and depth of it from an academic perspective. Some papers have recently been published however at the time of submission there was a vacuum of information that captures the current advancements well.
