| dc.description.abstract | The transfer of knowledge and skills among students, particularly from one academic subject to another poses challenges for students. This research aimed to explore the transfer of knowledge and skills between students’ courses, among students enrolled for the Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree. The aim was to explore the extent to which students in their first year of the (BEd) degree drew upon the knowledge and skills acquired in their compulsory Literacy course and applied them across their various subjects. By examining students' perceptions and experiences regarding knowledge transfer between courses, this research aimed to address two primary objectives; 1) to assess students' beliefs and practices in applying knowledge from the Literacy course to other subjects, and vice versa, and 2) identify and categorise the types of transfer evidenced in students’ written reflections and focus group interviews; and examine evidence of deep, surface and strategic approaches to learning as demonstrated in students’ written reflections and focus group interviews. Using a qualitative approach, the study sought to employ focus group interviews and reflective analysis to explore students' perceptions and experiences regarding knowledge transfer. | en |
