Abstract This study examines the political contribution of Madie Hall Xuma in South Africa, highlighting her initiatives to confront gender disparity and colonial subjugation during apartheid. As an African American advocate who integrated into South African life, Xuma significantly contributed to global Black feminist movements, especially through her leadership in the ANC Women’s League and various grassroots efforts. This research examines the overlaps of race, gender, and colonial authority, illustrating how her activism resisted Eurocentric and patriarchal systems, aiding the wider fight for women’s rights and national independence. Using literature study and Thematic analysis, the study aims to revive Xuma’s political contribution and reevaluate her importance in the political history of South Africa. Rooted in a decolonial feminist viewpoint, this research contests dominant historical accounts that have frequently ignored her contributions, acknowledging her as a key figure in the struggle for gender justice and political liberty during apartheid. Keywords: Madie Hall Xuma, decolonial feminism, gender equality, South African struggle, African American movements, transnational feminism, apartheid, ANC Women’s League, historical remembrance, colonial authority.en
