T Employee engagement is a construct which many researchers have agreed that it can contribute to the success of a business. The factors that influence or enhance employee engagement in an organisation are vast and can be applied to different scenarios. This study will attempt to identify factors that enhance employee engagement post a restructuring exercise in a manufacturing organisation in South Africa. This study becomes important taking into account the current economic condition in South Africa where growth is and predicted to be low into the foreseeable future. Although this study was conducted for a manufacturing organisation the results can be applied to any organisation that has or is going through a restructuring process. In conducting the research quantitative methodology was selected, with a questionnaire used as the research instrument. The questionnaire was designed to help respondents to rank which of the factors enhance employee engagement the most. Based on the literature review in Chapter 2 the factors were grouped into six factor categories namely employee identification with organisation, rewarding work environment, conducive work environment, career development, company leadership and resources. Respondents where employees of the organisation which underwent a restructuring. After gathering the data an analysis was done and top factors where identified. The findings identified that career development and a rewarding work environment are the top factors that enhance employee engagement post a restructuring.en_ZA
