A research report submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts by coursework and research report in the field of Drama Therapy to the Faculty of Humanities, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, 2023
In my research I aim to investigate whether Drama Therapy approaches could be utilised in working with children and adolescents diagnosed with chronic auto-immune diseases. Through an integrative literature review I aim to draw upon literature that examines various theoretical underpinnings of these Drama Therapy approaches from a variety of perspectives. I do this in hopes to gain a better understanding as to which approach might be more effective and have a more profound effect when looking at addressing the possibility of working with auto-immune disease and its implications for traumatic response.
