Abstract

The study exploredthe implementation of the EEA in Limpopo Premier’s office. It highlights progress on the recruitment, employment and retention of PWDs,interventions that took place and how the successes and challenges were managed. The researcher used structured in-depth interviews on eight respondents from various levels. The purpose of this selection was to have a population which would assist in providing data related to the research questions. Interviews, as primary resources, were analysed using patterns and themes. Literature review formed part of secondary resources. Implementation of the policies proved rather difficult given the change management processes the society is currently facing. There are a number of challenges that inhibit transformation regarding the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce. The study recommends that there should be collaboration between the office of the Premier in Limpopo and associations representing people with disabilities. This will enhance the implementation of the policies and decisions taken meant to assist and empower these individuals so that they become active participants in the process of nation building.
