T Tholaphi Audrey Mathonsi, Faculty of Management, University of the Witwatersrand, Abstract of Masters’ Thesis submitted May 2013 National School Nutrition Programme in rural area at Mkhuhlu (Bushbuckridge) The purpose of this study is assess how the National School Nutrition Programme (NSNP) is being implemented and monitored in Bhejani and Thulani primary schools at Mkhuhlu (Bushbuckridge) in the Mpumalanga Province The study was conducted in July to September 2012 and data was collected through interviews and observations. The subjects of this study were 22 and they were all met and interviewed by the researcher. The researcher interviewed and observed the subjects and the data was recorded and thereafter transformed into useful facts. The results indicate that the implementation and the monitoring of the of NSNP in both schools do not meet the required standard for implementation and monitoring. Since the NSNP is for the deprived South African learners it is therefore important that all stakeholders should work together towards the implementation of the NSNP in school at Mkhuhlu (Bushbuckridge).
