In a competitive business environment defined by increased competition and economic uncertainty, resilience, both organisational and individual, is becoming an important survival factor. In the fast food industry in South Africa, Roossenekal Foods is experiencing increased levels of staff turnover. This research aimed to see the impact of middle managers resilience levels as measured using the subscales of the Resilience Scale – self-reliance, meaning, equanimity, perseverance and existential aloneness. These construct were investigated in relation to the percentage of staff turnover in each manager‟s restaurant as calculated on the Balanced Scorecard. Data was collected from 36 managers in the Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West provinces and analysed using descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis. Results showed only a weak relationship between meaning and percentage staff turnover but highlight clear areas that need further investigation for the company concerned.en_ZA
