The partial skull of a new reptile from the Lower Triassic of Antarctica is described: It has a distinctive procolophon-like dentition, but other features suggest it is a diapsid. The name Fremouwsaurus geludens is proposed for the new animal. It is not possible to place the new form in any known higher taxon, so it is necessary to establish a new Family Fremouwsauridae to receive it.en_ZA
