| dc.description.abstract | This exploratory study investigates government interventions through a funded Non-Governmental Organization in improving the lives of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC). This was done through involving children and their families receiving services at the NGO. The problem statement was that little was done to find out if children’s services were addressing children’s needs and whether children were happy with the services offered to them. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were the tools utilized to gather the data in the study. Major findings were that children and their families were happy with services they were receiving from the NGO; families were also hoping to get employment from the NGO for the sustainability of their families and the continuous care and support of the OVC. Recommendations were put forward for researchers to investigate children’s services, and how children perceive those services, as this would help to map a way forward for further interventions. | en_US |
