dc.description.abstract In the current global economy leveraging information technology is essential to gain competitive advantage. To achieve this, companies must align business and IT strategies. The objectives of this research were to establish the critical success factors impacting the level of alignment between business and IT strategies in Colgate- Palmolive (CP); to understand how well aligned CP is with respect to these factors; to identify the tools most beneficial for alignment, and to develop a model to facilitate the alignment process. These objectives were achieved by conducting a survey using a quantitative e-mailed questionnaire that was circulated to 126 middle and senior managers from six departments within six global regions en_US
