Research has shown that front-end planning is the slngle most Important factor contributing to success, when computerising a construction orientated project management system. Allied to this front-end planning the next most significant factors were shown to be top management and end-user involvement and participation in all phases of the system development. Lesser factors contributing to the successful computerisation include structured design formats, sound strategic thinking, strong leadership for the development, clear cost analysis and an evaluation of alternatives.en_ZA
