Abstract

The research report explores the ways in which the networks of women cross-border traders challenge or affirm traditional conceptions of citizenship and gender relations. Located within the context of globalisation and the associated llberallsatlon policies, it analyses what types of social relationships are necessary to participate in the market and how through these economic activities, social relationships are subsequently shaped.
