Abstract
Topiramate is an effective adjuctive anticonvulsant with a favourable safety profile. Topiramate is a sulphamate-substituted monosaccharide derived from D-fructose and is structurally unrelated to other anti-epileptic drugs .It is available in variable strength, tablet and sprinkle capsule formulations. It acts by multiple mechanisms that suggest it may be effective in sevsral types of epilepsy
