This research report aims to explore whether architecture can be a form of reconciliation between machinery, handmade methods of production, and manufacturing, while simultaneously encouraging the idea of a new typology within industrial/ production architecture. This research further aims to reinterpret Venda’s craft to create an altered perspective on luxury products in an effort to improve their existing conditions through cultural and social development. An exploration through documenting and understanding the existing production systems within Thohoyandou while also investigating the traditional village collective work. Moreover, investigation of specific artefacts such as traditional attire and the production process behind it may be necessary to understand Venda culture. This research could achieve this by exploring how the textile patterns reflect the dynamic nature of Thohoyandou. Exploring the miňwenda as an artefact but also as a method of production and design process. There is thus a need to include studying methods such as traditional weaving and basic textile mills to improve this production process while considering its effects on the environment and the surrounding contexten_ZA
