L is the central focus of treatment and care for cancer patients regardless of treatment and whether the goal of treatment is cure, control or palliation. Research question: What is the HRQoL of men treated with hormonal therapy for prostate cancer at an academic hospital in Gauteng? Aim of the study: The study aimed to describe the HRQoL of men treated with hormonal therapy for prostate cancer at an academic hospital in Gauteng. Research Design: A cross-sectional design was used. A sample of 113 respondents were recruited using a convenience sampling. The European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30) and prostate-specific (EORTC QLQ - PR25) instruments were used for data collection. Data were analysed using STATA computer programme. Results: The HRQoL was affected by the disease and treatment side effects. All the domains except role functioning were compromised. Recommendations: Nurses are encouraged to conduct accurate assessment to manage patients holistically.en_ZA
