dc.description.abstractThis slide illustrates the size of HBV relative to other viruses, we can align 36 000 virus particles across the diameter of a pinhead! In the next 40 minutes or so, I would firstly like to deconstruct the title of my talk and in the process give you a crash course in hepatology, molecular biology, virology and Greek and next I would like to share with you some of the major highlights of our research, which include: Subgenotype A1: Identification; Epidemiology in and out of Africa; Molecular and functional characterization; Co-infection with HIV.
