The under-utilisation of labour in the Ciskei and Transkei: Introduction

Abstract

A neglected problem of the South African political economy is the unemployment of Africans. This paper is an attempt to shed some light on the problem or, rather, to point out that it is indeed a problem. It is based on a study that attempted to define and measure African unemployment.
