This research project investigated the measurement of learning styles utilising a particular learning styles instrument. The learning styles instrument that was employed was Honey & Mumford1s Learning Styles Questionnaire. The project sought to enquire whether this questionnaire can be usefully applied at an institution of tertiary education in South Africa such as the University of the Witwatersrand. Student reactions to Honey & Mumford's Learning Styles Questionnaire suggest that in a South African context it may not be an appropriate instrument to measure learning styles.en_ZA
