Abstract
Since earliest times the letter his been characterized by a certain
Stylized form. As a literary genre its sustained popularity probably
derives from its personalized appeal.
Specimens of letters date back to the birth of the Afrikaans
language, ranging from the ordinary run-of-the-mill communication
to the deliberately literary and fictional letter.
