Abstract
Drug related hospital admissions is a well documented subject in many parts of
the world. A similar study for the largest hospital in the world i.e. Chris Hani
Baragwanath Hospital (CHBH) has not been done.
The objectives of the study were to determine the incidence, the drug related
events, the pharmacological classification of the drugs involved and the average
medication cost for all the drug related hospital admissions.
