Due to their convenience, security, accessibility, and efficiency, e-payment methods are widely perceived as the primary and preferred mode of transaction. Commuters' perceptions, experiences, and attitudes towards using e-payment solutions for travel are examined. A quantitative methodology was employed to gather various commuter perspectives and viewpoints and identify potential barriers to adoption. Data collection focused on Gauteng public transport commuters to ensure the study's relevance to the target population. This research offers valuable guidance for decision-makers in developing practical solutions that promote the broader adoption of e-payment systems within the public transportation sector. It provides valuable insights into the discourse on modernising and enhancing payment systems in public transportation while shaping the future of urban mobility. By comparing the results of this study with recent research, a further contribution is made to a more comprehensive understanding of user perceptions of adoption in this domain. Additionally, the study suggests government intervention and regulation to ensure the successful implementation and adoption of e-payment systems. Ultimately, the study's findings underscore the potential benefits of e-payments to enhance the overall experience, efficiency, convenience, and customer satisfaction for commuters using minibus taxis, fostering optimism about adopting e-payment adoption by both commuters and businesses.
