This dissertation investigates the effectiveness of a simple reduced boiler and turbine model as an engineering tool. The implementation of a simple model of a physical boiler up, turbine is described, as well as the implementation of the unit controls. Results of actual tests performed on a generating unit are compared with the simulated data from identical tests. These comparisons show good correlation between the simulation and actual test data, leading to the conclusion that a simplified model is adequate as an engineering tool.enBoilers.Turbines.Control systems. The simplified simulation of a boiler, turbine and related control systemsThesis
