This research aims to aid our understanding of a successful case of humanitarian intervention and how it can be used to assist in modifying the current norm of R2P that is morally sound but is flawed in practice resulting in the worsening of already dire humanitarian crises. The research is specific to cases of self-determination, independence, and secession with humanitarian intervention being the vector for positive regime change.
