This study seeks to ascertain what the personality traits are for online entrepreneurs and permits to conclude whether or not there is a significant difference in the personality profile of an online entrepreneur versus the traditional brick and mortar business entrepreneur. Quantitative research methodology was used for this research study using a questionnaire that was administered to entrepreneurs located in the Gauteng region of South Africa. Each entrepreneur had run their business for more than two consecutive years since inception and employed at least one full time employee. There appears to be a significant difference in the personality traits of the online entrepreneur when compared to the traditional entrepreneur. As such, aspiring entrepreneurs, educators and venture capitalists should be aware of these differences and ultimately provide the accurate support to entrepreneurs so they can help alleviate the unemployment problem in South Africa.enEntrepreneurial personality traitsPersonalityPersonality trait theories of online entrepreneurs in South AfricaThesis
