Abstract
This report exposes the corporate manager to a new field that, to the uninitiated, amounts to nothing short of pure 'vision'. It outlines the simplistic power.of IT, and how it can be applied to solve and simplify many in formation management problems, moves on to explain how this new technology has only recently become available to the average concern on a single site scale, and how 'it is well Within the reach of the non-technical manager. The more technical aspects deal with the low-level implementation complexities that are often glossed over by system vendors, and attempts to expose the forward thinking manager to the practical realities, whilst simultaneously maintaining a positive stance on the feaslblltv of a working installation. Separate sections cover the management of change that presupposes such advanced thinking as well as general management applicable to the wide range of skill levels traversed by business systems.
