Abstract
This research is an exploratory study, which examines experiences in South
African Land Reform Programmes. It focuses on selected beneficiaries of Land
Reform in the Bojanala district of the North West Province. The study examines
market-led agrarian Reform that emerged out of the pro-market critique of stateled
approaches to agrarian reform. The research aims at finding if the South
African government is fulfilling its objectives on land reform.
Empirical research in the a form of a case study was conducted to establish the
problems facing beneficiaries of land reform, to examine their perceptions
regarding the existing land reform policies and legislation, and to identify possible
solutions. Perceptions of respondents were recorded by way of semi-structured
interviews. The results indicate that there is a need to have land reform that is not
separate from agricultural restructuring
